Healthy Hearts Week


Starting on Monday 27th September is our annual Healthy Hearts Week. During this week students have the opportunity to take part in physical activities before school and at break times. These activities include morning runs at 7.00am along with aerobics, circuit-training, skipping and distance running at break times.

A focus for the week will be promoting a healthy diet and students in Grade 3, 4 and 5 will be keeping record of the fruit and vegetables they consume, with the target of 5 servings a day.

The whole school challenge this year is “Zanzibar Biathlon” This is to swim the distance from Dar to Zanzibar (approx 25km) and then run around the coast of Zanzibar (approx 250km) This will take place at break-times and swimming/PE lessons, with every child in the school taking part.

We will be encouraging students and staff to wear sports kit every day next week. Please feel free to join in any of the activities – your kids will love it if you do this.
